The name Green Wave came about when we quietly observed the wildlife around the trees that line the shores in Puntarenas, Costa Rica.

White-faced capuchin monkeys rummaged in the trees to the right. Countless ants transported leaves and dead insects to their colony along an ant highway on the ground, while cicadas called for their mates.

Nature unfolded in every moment, letting go of the old and giving rise to something new. Out of sight, the ocean roared from behind the growth; like a green wave thundering the circle of life onto the shores and into the canopy.

This moment was formative for us.

We depend on the well-being of the communities and the health of the environment.

We leave a place in better shape than we found it in. We clean up behind us to ensure those who come next can thrive. If we go to the beach, we pick up the trash.

Our goal is to create lasting partnerships by connecting locals and new-comers with the places they love.

It takes a great team to make that success happen, but it takes a village to make it sustainable.

We rely on teamwork and community. That is why community engagement is a core pillar of our efforts.

We want to reframe the role real estate companies can play in serving their communities. Part of our commitment is pledging a percentage of our yearly revenues to local efforts that tackle poverty and unemployment.

System change is a process. We can’t change the system in a snap. But that doesn’t absolve us of responsibility.

It simply means we have to take action to make change and keep changing as we learn, bringing better questions and better practices to bear as we progress.
